Upland Cress – Broadleaved Seeds

About Upland Cress, also known as “Garden Cress” and “Pepper Grass” is a quick growing salad green or garnish. Can be grown in a greenhouse during the winter months. Similar to watercress as far as looks and nutrients go but is much easier to grow and is slow to bolt. Use Cress to add zing to soups, salads, and sandwiches.

When and Where to Plant Plant seeds in early spring before the last frost. Cress grows best in soil that is well draining but still moist. Choose an area that is partially shady to full sun.

Care and Harvest Sow generously in wide rows. Choose a cooler, shady area as cress becomes quite bitter in hot weather. Water often and spray seedlings daily to keep them moist. Cress tastes best during its early stages and should be harvested when 3-4 inches tall.
